From the project blog of Yoshiko Saito-Abbott and Gus Leonard, project leaders for the Less Commonly Taught Languages collaborative project:

We use JAPN380 as a course number – CSUMB uses 100 and 200 numbers for lower division courses and 300 and 400 for upper division courses. However, Sacramento uses 100 level for Upper division courses.  When Sacramento offers Upper division literature course next year, this will present a problem since CSUMB students need Upper division courses (300-400) level.  Next semester it will be confusing for students of Sacramento that JAPN380 looks like a graduate level course.  We need to find solution for this.
